At ~GwaihirBW's request, I've gone and put together a tutorial on how I do my digital paintings, using this painting in progress as a subject. Do please take this advice with a grain of salt though: I've only been at this for a month now.
Also, does anyone know how to upload a preview image for an outsized PNG? dA's FAQs are no help. Tools: Photoshop Elements 2, Wacom tablet, a few hours of cut-and-paste-and-type Reavers (c) David Farland Art and tutorial (c) me |

muahahahahahahaha
I must... not... correct!
GAH! I can't resist anymore.
Okay... GAH! There are so many more shortcuts that you can do. I used to color this way but years of digitalness have made me the master of quick color.
How long did this take you? An hour? More?
But no... no I won't.
Ooon topic, I use totally different methods to yours.

The blank page holds potential for all things. - motto.
I reject your reality and substitute my own - Adam Savage, but originally Paul Bradford from The Dungeonmaster.
I accept all critique with an open ear and a grateful mind.
Unfortunately, being a dorm student, that is out of reach of my funds. If you'd gladly pay me for a noodle, I would most oblige. And probably forget to pay you back too... but that's a good thing, trust me *jedi mind trick face*

"I know you're all jealous of my fig now"
(said after I blessed the fig fruit for tu bishvat... apparently this was not appropriate in front of 40 people and a rabbi)
As for these shortcuts... do tell! I'd love to see 'em. *coughtutorialcough*
